GVA are retained by the London Borough of Wandsworth to advise on the renewal of the Winstanley and York Road Estates adjacent to Clapham Junction station. This area has also now been designated a Housing Zone by the Mayor. The area comprises a total of 2,000 residential units and the aim is to develop a net additional 1,000 units on site and a further 1,000 across the rest of the Housing Zone. These will be a combination of social, affordable rent, private rent and owner occupation. The scheme will also provide a new concourse at Clapham Junction on the north side, a new leisure centre and replacement schools, shopping and commercial facilities.
Our role has been to lead a multidisciplinary team to establish a delivery strategy and set up the delivery vehicle. We have advised on viability, funding, land assembly (CPO) and wider delivery aspects. We are also managing the planning process and an OJEU compliant procurement process to engage the private sector in a joint venture delivery structure.
